Branding Case Study _ Peach Perfect

Pablos

A brand exercise for a proposed new restaurant. The restauranteur asked me to create a look and feel for presentation to a group of potential investors. I created image based elements for use in menu templates, e-mail marketing, mobile promos, and print advertising.

Days of the Dead

A week-long festival in Austin, Texas. During which the city pays homage and celebrates Latino Culture. Multiple venues host musical acts, there are art exhibits and of course the Día de los Muertoss parade.

Local Night

Local Night for Local People is a weekend-long free series of shows highlighting Austin based musicians. The producers of this annual event wanted collateral to promote the weekend throughout the year. T-shirts, posters, buttons and artwork were created as giveaways and sellable merchandise. We created a series 'mascots' by focusing on animals, natural phenomenon and objects associated with after-dark activity. The idea was to keep this event on the mind of music lovers and build anticipation.

Spring Architects

Creating for creatives is always an exciting challenge. It was no different for Spring Architects. The clients asked for a monogram that reflected architecture, movement and alluded to the partnership of opposite personalities. The simplicity of the initial idea was established early on in the process but required a few iterations to get it just right. The weight of the strokes is precise, consistent and in keeping with rigorous architectural plans. The colors reflect the firm’s commitment to creating sustainable, environmentally friendly buildings.

I'm showing you the first draft logo ideas and the subsequent chosen logo. So you can get a sense of the number of ideas and drafts we try before arriving at a final concept.

Bellas Artes Alliance

Salinas Arch

Logo design and brand development for an architecture firm in Austin, Texas. The stylized “S” is based on the cantilever, an architectural element that speaks to strength, support and reach well beyond its perceived capacity.

MVMT50

Diversity in design and high-tech fields, as it pertains to African American and Latino participants, is lacking at best. Originally titled Blacks in Tech, this organization was renamed MVMT50 to better reflect a more inclusive yet broader mission. The timing coincided with the 50th Anniversary of Dr. King's march on Washington. The mission and philosophy is simple, where will the state of diversity within the technology and design industries be in the next 50 years.

Business Cards

Editorial Design

Clean typography, strict grids, (that we break when it's warranted), bright, quality photography and unusual color palettes... these are few of the traits of our editorial design work.

Covers and spreads designed for local newspaper TODO Austin.

TODO Austin is a free-distribution, full color monthly newspaper and online journal for all of Austin, highlighting our multicultural heritage and promoting the concept of community in an ethnically diverse city, through events, arts, music, and advocacy.

TODO Austin and its partner website todoaustin.com celebrate our common heritage while closely mirroring the changing demographics of Austin. We aim to provide a platform to profile the individuals, groups, organizations and events that present a positive vision in the community.

Blacks in Tech

A gathering of African American professionals celebrating, highlighting and promoting aspects of diversity within the Tech industry. This event happens in concert with SXSW.

Branding Case Study _ Mark Hart Architecture

Architects often have disparate levels of services and target markets and Mark Hart Architecture is no different. Their new logo needed to be at home with the mainstream mixed-use development projects and traditional clientele of Austin, Texas. The identity needed to convey professionalism, confidence, and modernity all while maintaining quick, easy recognition on job site signage for passersby. Another aspect to their business is custom homes. The textural and structural artifice depicted within the logo mimics the variety of elements and materials used in a custom home design. It also represents the creativity and sketch-like origins of the firm’s ideas that will soon become part of the Austin cityscape.

Branding Case Study _ Libba.

Libba Letton is a PR professional with expertise in the field of crisis management. Her new endeavor needed a logo that communicated the urgent nature of her profession while also showcasing her personality. Instead of using the ‘tired’ PR initials I began to think about what happens within a company or organization that is experiencing the initial tremors of a crisis. The call for help or the call for Libba! is how this core idea was manifest. The concept walks the line between whimsical and serious while providing an unforgettable icon.

Branding Case Study _ Elite Patient Care

Elite Patient Care was developed in order to provide continuity of care for patients and their families in multiple settings. The logo needed to illustrate the intersection of different disciplines that all work toward assisting people in achieving independent lives. Also, it needed to look like a healthcare organization without looking cold or institutional.

Branding Case Study _ Pop Centric

A logo project for Population Centric Intelligence which provides data visualizations to facilitate healthcare decisions. This logo needed to adhere to evolving typographic standards. The color palette and “circle” based elements already existed. We crafted several concepts that illustrate the notion of data intelligence that overlaps to provide unique insight.

Branding Case Study _ R.N.D.S. app

A brand profile can be implemented across various media environments. Business cards, mobile app avatars, websites and physical promotional items. If the identity is well crafted the pieces all feel like family.

Branding Case Study _ Luevano Health Care

Looking to solidify their reputation and status within their service communities, Luevano Healthcare needed a brand identity that reflected their experience and commitment to quality family medicine. Traditional symbols mixed with a monogram make up the iconography. The contemporary typography and colors create an element of trust and credibility without resorting to the cliché.

Branding Case Study _ Bene Vida.

Benevida Health and Wellness Center, prior to launching their new operation in Kyle, Texas, required a brand identity that could communicate the relatively new concept of wellness to their community without sacrificing their internal ethos. “…optimum well being, renewed vitality, restored energy, and new enthusiasm for life.” These are the emotions the new logo needed to convey.
